Arun Prakash: "Before the start of the tournament India looked like a team that had all bases covered with zero weakness, the associate nations exposed their mild weakness against spin in the middle order batting. Now it's time for other teams to use this blue print effectively against India in upcoming matches."

There have been 2045 balls delivered by spinners in the tournament so far. Of those, the one that accounted for Axar Patel’s dismissal had the lowest release point. Overall, the top 10 deliveries with the lowest release points in the competition have been delivered by Gerhard Erasmus, the top seven of those coming today.

-Of the 20 spin-bowling attacks on show in the tournament, Namibia spinners have the second-lowest average release points on average, only marginally behind Nepal. India spinners have the highest release points on average.

Gerhard Erasmus' bowling figures of 4 for 20 are the joint-second best by a captain at the men's T20 World Cup, behind Rashid Khan's 4 for 17 against New Zealand in 2024.

What a strange finish from India. And a terrific finish from Namibia. From 205 for 4, India lose 5 for 4 - yes, five wickets for the addition of four runs - off the last 11 balls of their innings. What to make of it all? Great death bowling? New batters struggling with having to slog from ball one? Tailenders being tailenders? Randomness?

Yes. Yes, all that.

Anyway, at the end of it all, Namibia need 210 to win. They'll be delighted, because at one stage (the Kishan stage) they were looking at 300, and at another stage (the Hardik stage) they were looking at 240. What a performance from their captain Gerhard Erasmus, putting the broadened scope of his secondary skill to full use on a pitch with a bit of help for the spinners, and finishing with 4 for 20. Good death bowling from left-armers Trumpelmann and Smit as well, after taking heavy punishment in their earlier spells.

Abdul Samad: "With dew to come, this is a brilliant plan by Namibia" No dew yet. Pitch has been even. There was some spin, so Varun might play a key part

Honestly they should play another bowler in place of him.
