Ik it seems that way but I feel if the Indian writing it is clearly biased, phir the authenticity of his opinions are debatable na?
Well, human beings are biased. Applies to both who liked the movie and those who didn't.
Debating those opinions is not the issue here. My point was more about labeling people as anti-nationals just for disagreeing, as has been happening lately.
"He's a jingoist."
Is he? Really? Not all people are what they show.
Maybe he is an opportunist? Why even put a label on him?
You got a clear opinion about the movies and it's fine to voice it here (I really like your contributions), but by giving a stamp on someone with the word "is" (like a fact) one does what far too many do: giving the own Impression/perception etc. a spin towards a fact. (I mostly try to make clear that my own opinion should not get viewed in a generalizing way.)
To me, there is a strong difference between a story told and the cinematographic proceeding to bring it to the people. I already stated that I perceive this movie as being beyond propaganda... in any way, it is a well thought-through movie (in whichever direction the own thinking about the content goes).
I align with Baradwaj Rangan's way to review the movie with giving a 'propaganda' label into the hands of each single viewer
(rightly so)
Just to add: Germany had a very skilled female filmmaker - Leni Riefenstahl... so, I know a bit about propaganda movies first hand
It’s so funny to see people claim the movie is spreading religious venom or that it’s anti-muslim blah, blah, blah. If terrorism has no religion, how does a movie that is anti-terrorism become anti-muslim or accused of spreading religious venom? Like make it make sense 😂
I found Modi's part to be minor cameo. But I feel Aditya Dhar wants to have an uncomfortable conversation. One that the Country is still not ready to have.
I don't care much for International press especially the US reputation ones when the US current government treats certain section of people as criminals.
Who cares about what ‘international press’ thinks. Movie is doing well nationally and internationally..its resonating with many. I have seen reviews of prominent foreigners who loved the movie..even they don’t give 2 hoots to their press.
The press that didn’t listen to us when we were bleeding, the press that demonised us when we were the ones suffering..the press that ignored our warnings that this fire that they r fawning would soon reach their doors.
And to some people who r praising Hindus..thanks. We know what we stand for..we r inclusive, we r tolerant, we r all things positive..and we exist..since ages..and will live and exist beyond this too. Will do whatever it takes.
Its satisfying to read that the film achieved its objective..
