Chapter 36, as I said in my short review, it was an absolute winner! It gave us the perfect mix of sweet family moments, TuHir moments 😍, long-awaited drama and total justice against Noina.

The restaurant scene was so beautiful to read. Seeing Mihir take charge by pulling out Tulsi’s chair, sitting right beside her, and softly wiping her tears when the food got too spicy. Really showed how much he has changed. He isn't holding back out of guilt anymore. And having Noina hide behind that pillar, watching them be so happy and comfortable together, was super satisfying! 😅 Noina spent seven years assuming Mihir will feel like a hero if he needs to save a helpless woman. But seeing Tulsi easily pay the bill burst her bubble of that belief. Our Mihir doesn't want someone who depends on him; he just wants a real, equal partner and that is Tulsi. Period.🥰

Then came the big confrontation, and wow, it delivered! Tulsi shut Noina down with just one dialogue: "Mere doston aur dushmano ka ek standard hai." That was pure class. 😅 And Mihir didn't stay quiet either. He completely broke down Noina’s lifelong delusion (fitoor). Bringing up past incidents like the office fire and the finger-licking drama and showing how Noina used them to create misunderstanding.. stripped away all her power over them and planning to ruin Tulsi’s day. Like Mihir said - Noina only knows how to destroy things, while Tulsi is the true diya that brightens the house.

Ending the chapter at Shantiniketan made everything feel complete. The Satyanarayan Pooja brought the whole family together, and seeing Mihir and Tulsi sit side by side showed that their bond is finally healed. The final balcony scene with malai kulfi was the icing on the cake. When Tulsi wiped the kulfi off Mihir's lips, it mirroring what he did for her at the restaurant was so lovely 😍

They are not just recovering from the past anymore; they are truly back together as equals. What a fantastic, heart-warming chapter!

Please please please.. more such TuHir moments please 🤩

I liked damini's scenes with hrithik vrinda and mitali. Will pari make a simple cotton saree to give Tulsi as a birthday gift?mitali telling Tulsi how other virani women are good at multi tasking but she took one month to learn how to plait Timsy's hair and Tulsi's reply was emotional.

chap 35 :

The chapter we had all been waiting for… and you absolutely delivered.

"Tulsi, I am so proud of you." Man, such simple words, yet they carried so much weight.

I loved Mihir’s reactions while reading the article. He already knew her journey, her struggles, and everything she had achieved, yet seeing it all written from someone else’s perspective made him discover and appreciate it all over again.

We could genuinely feel how proud he was of his wife.

All the questions spiralling in Tulsi’s mind have only one answer; Mihir is genuinely appreciating her success, without any hidden agenda..

So fun to read , Mihir trying to act nonchalant about the fact that this was all his doing, and failing miserably at it.

Kids… ahh, obviously the most notorious people... There was a time when Tulsi couldn’t even look Mihir straight in the eye, and now she can tell her grandkids all about the surprise and the rose. Mihir’s hard work has finally paid off...

Gifts ..

The kids… what an amazing and creative gift... It must have taken them so much time and effort. Kids are not exactly known for spending so much time on a single thing, so this clearly shows how much love they have for Tulsi.

And the fact that they haven't even known Tulsi all their lives makes it even more special.

the sari given by Pari was beautiful gift, but the bigger gift was seeing her take responsibility—showing the bills and costs, and even being honest about her salary deduction. She has become so much more than just a loving daughter. She has grown into a genuinely good human being, which is exactly what Tulsi always wanted her to become.

Mihir’s reaction to Pari’s gift… Finally, I feel like the father and daughter can start healing. This also made me think about how Pari and Mihir must have felt about each other during those six years. He used to love Pari the most, and the betrayal coming from her must have hurt him deeply. In some ways, I feel Mihir may have experienced a little of the same pain that Tulsi did because of him. The difference is that Tulsi was hurt by Mihir’s actions, while Mihir was hurt by Pari’s manipulation and betrayal.

Everyone’s gifts—whether from Angar and Vrinda, Ritik, Shobha, or Karan and Nandini—showed how much thought they had put into choosing something for Tulsi. The younger ones’ gifts were more practical, things she could use in her day-to-day life, while the older ones gave her something closer to her heart—the memories and love of her family.

But nothing can beat the gift Gautam and Damini gave her.

I’ll be waiting to see what Gayatri Chachi and Mitali have given her.

Tulsi still getting shy while feeding cake to Mihir… such a small moment, but it says a lot about them.

And so, the article wasn't the only gift.. it was just the first of many The heritage book were such a thoughtful gift as well. I loved how every gift had a meaning behind it.

Mandir scene came out so natural .. he was plannig even before holi.. even when she was not even comfortable to talk to him freely..

Him confessing everything and, at the same time, telling her that he had no part in her success that all of this was simply his motivation for doing what he did… that’s when we realise Mihir has finally reached a stage where his respect for Tulsi holds even more importance than the love he has always had for her.He is no longer just loving her; he genuinely admires and respects the woman she has become.

In all of this, just one simple sentence from Tulsi meant more than anything else...more than Mihir could have ever imagined. Thirty-eight years of marriage had given her an understanding of the industry simply by listening to him talk about it or casually mention things over the years.

Hopefully, the guilt will pass soon…

He took her out for golgappe in the morning… haha! Looks like he has planned the entire day around her and doesn't want to miss a single opportunity to do something she loves.

Excited for the DATE Hopefully, Noina won't spoil it.

And that car ride… the red lipstick, the song… maybe 15 days ago, Tulsi's reaction would have been completely different. But now, she is slowly moving past all of thisand hopefully, Mihir will be able to move past it too.

Thank you soo much dear 🤗

And now even my smile is a mile wide reading this 😁

The entire Amaya sequence had me grinning from beginning to end. I loved how there wasn't any over-the-top romance, just so many little moments that meant everything because we've seen where Mihir and Tulsi started. Mihir offering his arm first, pulling her chair out himself, moving his chair next to hers instead of sitting opposite, quietly letting her boss him around about the spicy food... these are such small things on paper, but after everything they've been through, they felt huge.
I am trying to keep the story as realistic and grounded as I can. That was exactly the idea - to give romance through small moments rather than grand ott gestures - So glad i succeeded

The part that got me almost immediately was Tulsi realizing she's always been the one reaching for him these past few months. She touched his shoulder first, held his hand first, stepped into his hug first... and now she's suddenly noticing that he's beginning to reach for her without waiting anymore. That hit me so much harder than any love confession could have.
Yes it was in the morning only tulsi said - if you keep feeling guilty, how will we enjoy our courtship- that thing struck a chord in him probably.
@bold - thank you so much dear - so happy

And can we talk about the lunch itself? 😂 Their banter felt SO natural. Tulsi worrying about his acidity while he's happily ordering the spiciest food just because he wants to see her "swaad ke aansoo" had me laughing. Then the rainbow conversation, calling each other filmy, Mihir looking ridiculously pleased with himself whenever he won an argument... it just felt like watching two people who've finally become comfortable being themselves again.
oh thank you for saying it looked natural. That scene had to be rewritten so many times that I thought of scraping their conversation altogether! But so relieved it came out natural

One scene that absolutely broke me was the bill.

The moment Tulsi remembered the old incident where she'd been questioned for spending money from their joint account... I actually felt my heart sink because I'd completely forgotten about that.

I happen to have a good memory- so I remembered that scene. If you remember Mihir also confessed it as one of his gravest mistakes in the confessions chapter

And then Mihir quietly handed the bill to her, looked away, and didn't even watch while she signed it. That one gesture said more than a whole page of dialogue ever could. It wasn't about paying for lunch. It was trust. It was respect. It was him silently undoing something he'd once broken. That was probably my favorite moment in the entire restaurant sequence.

Yes mine too - fave moment! So glad I could make it land without needing to explain it in details..

Poor Noina... but also... wow.

I genuinely loved how her downfall wasn't because somebody humiliated her. It was because reality kept proving every belief she'd built her life around wrong. She thought men wanted to feel needed. Mihir wants an equal. She thought years of planning and manipulation would eventually create intimacy. Tulsi creates intimacy just by telling a waiter to serve him less spicy food because she knows he'll get acidity later. That contrast was honestly brilliant. The confrontation was everything I wanted.

So glad the Noina downfall part came out well. And thank you dear - I was so scared that the confrontation would fall flat - because there were no dramatic moments or dialogues!!

Oh and I wanted to share one thing- if you have ever read Anton Chekhov, you might be aware of the concept of wobbly table (please do google it - it’s very interesting) that’s where o got the idea of wobbly table for Noina

I especially loved that Mihir never gave even an inch. Every time Noina tried rewriting history, he shut it down immediately. There wasn't even a moment where I thought, "Uh oh, is she getting into his head?" Nope. He knows exactly who she is now.

Yes he is thoroughly disgusted with her now - even himself for thinking of her as his friend. He isn’t giving her any rope now

But Tulsi... wow.

"Mere doston aur dushmano ka ek standard hai."

I had to stop reading for a second after that line. 😂

That dialogue I took from the show only - remember? When they were all going to surat for the first time, tulsi said this exact dialogue to Noina

And then asking Noina what she'd actually given Mihir apart from pain, shame, betrayal and deception... honestly, Tulsi didn't need long speeches because every sentence she spoke landed perfectly.

That was the idea - tulsi will mostly stay quiet- just landing a few punches while Mihir quashes her delusions - I thought that suits both their characters

What surprised me the most, though, was the car scene afterward.

I was expecting relief after the confrontation, but instead Tulsi just... cried. And somehow that felt so real. Sometimes you don't cry during the hardest moment. You cry afterwards, when everything is finally over. Mihir immediately blaming himself again hurt, but I loved that Tulsi stopped him before he could spiral back into guilt. That alone shows how far both of them have come.
Yes, if you sees, tulsi has hardly cried in this story-especially in front of Mihir, so her crying afterwards felt natural - a strong person needs to cry sometimes and that she did it on his shoulder- you understood exactly what I wanted to convey

Then you somehow gave us the Satyanarayan pooja, family dinner, Karan's video call, and the balcony scene with kulfi... and instead of feeling like "too much," it felt like exactly what the chapter needed after everything that happened. The balcony especially was beautiful. Mihir wiping her tears earlier, Tulsi wiping the kulfi from his mouth later... those little parallels are honestly one of my favorite things about your writing.

So glad the chapter didn’t feel crowded - I wanted to at least end tulsi's birthday in this chapter.. I love those parallels too - try to incorporate them as often as I naturally can.

Also, huge appreciation for something I've noticed throughout this story: you trust your readers. You don't stop every emotional moment to explain why it matters. You let the characters' actions do the talking, and because we've been on this journey with them, those tiny gestures end up hitting much harder than dramatic speeches ever could.
@ bold - I have no words to express what this did to me - I have waited so long for someone to notice this - I trust my readers! That’s my basic premise since chapter 1. Thank you sooo much dear!!

This chapter reminded me why I got so invested in Mihir and Tulsi in the first place. Their relationship isn't healing because of one grand romantic gesture. It's healing because of dozens of tiny choices they keep making for each other every single day. Somehow watching Mihir let Tulsi control his kebabs felt just as romantic as the proposal. 😂 Absolutely loved this chapter. Definitely one of my favorites so far, and I already can't wait for the next one.

Well that makes the 2 of us - I thought this whole lunch was much more intimate and romantic than the proposal, although proposal ka bhi apna mazaa tha - it was so unique

Also I had a lot of free time today so thought to give a bigg review..😂
Well; in that case, I hope you get a lot of free time every time I post my chapter

Thank you sooo much dear. Means a lot to me! My replies are in red

Hey dear - the pleasure is mine 😇

aapke review ki length dekh ke dil garden garden ho Gaya- thank you so much

TuHir ke moments ne iss chapter ko uplift kya. their relationship is taking a new shape. rightly said new rainbow, every day filling with different shades.I think this is something relationships do need , in order to be lively, happening. Here the equation of TuHir is started taking a new shape, altogether a new one, freshly building on new basement of equality, mutual respect , trust , open communication, love. it defines them, they lived together 38 years, where one has surrendered, always has been the backbone, support system, and the other has been the dominant, decision maker, policy maker. It's not done to show superiority but because he failed to realize the other who always stands by, supports, exists without any noise, silently surrendering and appreciating your work , admiring your traits, loving you the way you are, treating you as the precious thing of her life, where as you failed to understand the nuances of it. It is not done out of compulsion, but out of love, admiration and respect. The same yet times Mihir failed to do in past, the scar of it is still there in Tulsi. So Mihir want that gap to be filled Tulsi to be as open as she was before , the right she showed to use their joint account o demanding as companion from your husband., probably Mihir miss these which connects a couple, he knew he is the reason for it. The treat and bill payment he expected from Tulsi is the same. He is waiting for that moment again eagerly where Tulsi is at ease to be with him as she used to be.

Correct - their relationship is now evolving with new dynamics.. it’s not that he disrespected tulsi before but he had always thought love was enough . But now he understands more than love, trust and respect are needed in a relationship. So that respect and that admiration of what she has become all alone - comes naturally from his heart now. Yes that “mere paise” wound scar is still there in tulsi. And Mihir knows that one wound will take time to heal completely.

It's difficult to unlearn things and learn new ones. Here Mihir has realized he has to learn new in order to be open in a relationship. Relationships need sacrifice, egos to keep aside, accept as is, change for good and it should be mutual. It's better late than never in case of Mihir.

Correct he needs to unlearn and learn new things- but it’s never easy for a person to change themselves

Alright , TuHir hand in hand , the ease at which he offered her his hand genuine, glad, Tulsi accepting it showed the dependency chord started developing slowly. Mihir was never hesitant to show his love to her whenever he felt like showing he was open. He pulling the chair for her( he knew she likes it), ordering her favorite food, sitting close by, she ordering the waiter to bring dahi kebabs and other less spicy food , they do remember each others choices and likes, also what suits their health. she asking the waiter to serve Mihir the less spicy starters , main course, the right amount, Mihir has missed these in the past 6.5 years. issme chupa hua pyar ke liye tarasa hai wo. They both talking about the gift of kids and they talked about the rainbow, which they both cannot deny are building everyday.

Correct! All of that was 44 years of knowing each other! Yes about chair pulling he knows she likes him pulling out her chair. He knows she likes very spicy food even if they bring tears to her eyes. Yes this care about his health- he missed it so much. They start talking effortlessly

Swad ke aasoan , Mihir k dil ko sukoon dete hai, He loves watching her tears out of her obsession with spicy food, and his admiration, his voluntary wiping off the tears, feeding her water in between this is more romantic and love oozes every corner.

So happy I succeeded in portraying romance this way

That ice cream scene was my favorite one always, the tables were turned , they had lovely lunch date. Tulsi saying she is eating ice cream after years shows her pain, hurt, longing for her man, her memories with him, Mihir is probably not trying to compensate but has realized these small things around him is what she expected for herself, not expensive ones. He missed these, he remembered those moments recreated those , on her special day, what can be better than this.

Yes he’s consciously and unconsciously compensating for the hurt he caused in the past

The Hotel staff many of them recognising her, admiring , praising , surprised by her humbleness and simplicity. They are in aww of the couple closeness and liked how they are in love till date by offering small things like hand in hand, pulling chair, wiping tears, feeding ice cream, keeping each others choices in mind. A more to fall in love with them, koala teeka. smiley33
Yes even strangers love tulsi and can see what an in-love couple they are

Noina ko itna jalaya na, dil ko sukoon mil gya, every gesture of TuHir has made her question self, every talk of TuHir has penetrated insecurities and jealousy in her. which brought smile on my face as a reader. Noina deserves this. she needs to understand TuHir are with each other not out of compulsion bcoz they are married, but bcoz they love each other beyond words could explain, they stand by each other in every phase , sacrifice for one another , care , protect, keep the other before self their happiness with each other no matter whether they fight, argue, do not talk of weeks or years, still the bond has grown so strong they need not have to control each other or flaunt, they do not need to put up a show in order to fall in love, they do it as easily as drinking water. Writer too good of a part the hotel staff treating her, keeping an eye as they knew she is a home wrecker, and they do not want to ruin their most reputed couple who have to their restaurant with the protocols, here they understood Noina has followed TuHir, and landed without booking. lols.

Noina ko jalana - i did that because a reader asked specifically- yaad nahi kisne ye scene maanga tha - TuHir romancing and Noina burning with envy.
And that wobbly table idea - if you ever read Anton Chekhov, you’ll understand I got the idea from Chekhovs wobbly table.. kitna humiliation hua naa Noina ka- without TuHir even knowing about it or knowing she was there. Obviously no reputed restaurant wants a scene to be created.

Noina got humiliated firstly by the staff, then her stubbornness to choose a table to keep a tab on TuHir, everything noticed by Hotel Staff with disgust. She was burning with jealousy, insecurity and helplessness, dil ko thank mil gyi , thank you writer.

Yes it was so much fun to write her humiliation

funny she followed them or hiding herself to see how they seated in the car, her restlessness ufff too good. smiley36 mama aagya.

It was so much fun to write

Pan scene was good too, outside food always ends with Pan , very Indian thing.smiley36

Yes, though part of the reason Mihir wanted to eat paan was - let Noina wait and stew a bit.

TuHir were the best, I loved it.

So glad

Noina ki saare expectation ko Mihir ne mitti me mila diya aaj. she thought of attracting him by her beauty , wo fail , Tulsi nhi aayegi wo fail, Tulsi ko humiliate karegi wo fail. smiley37, jitna phi paintra hai sab fail. (mujhe ssamjh nhi aaya did she sign the 18% stake return papers or not, did I miss, I understand Mihir ne last me bola the she did sign).
Yes Noina had kept the papers ready with her sign done.
That was so much fun to write - Noina itne elaborate plans banake baithi thi ki Mihir aayega tab tulsi ko call Karoongi so that she can hear them talking and think something else.. Saare plans pe paani phir gaya😂😂

Why the two people are together can't be explained, why she is not chosen by Mihir can be explained. How on earth she compared Tulsi with her, Mihir can never look at Noina the way he looks at Tulsi, he can admire Noina as a businesswoman, independent, intelligent , good looking, her physique and love her as a friend, but he can only get attracted to his wife whether she is not in shape, think of her romantically, admire her the way she lived with him, not because she did things but she accepted him and surrendered herself , same with him too. I understand they are totally different people, their perspectives are different, but when it comes to the decision making they land up together, if they fail they fail together and ek duster ko hausla dense, if they succeed they do together and enjoy. Some things in life can't be explained, why Noina was not loved by Mihir even from the college days, bcoz his heart was yearning for something else which obviously Tulsi has. Tulsi inspite of many humiliations , disrespects, anger, she still stood by Mihir, bcoz she knew he has every right to do so, and he will come back to her and apologize or they will work out things calmly when the heat settles down, they find solace in each other arms.

very correct - TuHir may fight or even separate but they ultimately find their way back to each other - most importantly no one can take their place in each other’s life

Ok Mujhe Noina ke 6saal tak SN me rehna kabhi accha nhi laga, neither Tulsi going out of SN, Tulsi ne bahot baar Noina k taane sune , which I hated, Mihir ki chuppi bhi I hated, but yeah this was a good confrontation so far. Noina can never understand "Kyunki tumhari plate meri zimmedaari hai", " Tumhe acidity hojayegi", "Swaad k Aasoon", " Mazak nhi tum pay karogi bill" , "ice cream -ek spoon" and the admiration and love she saw for Tulsi in Mihir's eyes.

Even I hated that so much- especially Noina in SN!

Correct! A woman like Noina can never understand what Mihir sees in tulsi nor can she understand their love language

Tulsi and Mihir in the drive way , Tulsi silently breaking down, Mihir noticing it, it pained him seeing her cry. Tulsi felt light hearted, realized how many things were scammed and planned by Noina to separate them , and how they succumbed to it, not because they didn't trust each other , but because the ego, anger overpowered at that moment over their love, faith, respect. Tulsi realized both Mihir and Noina's way of looking at things between Noina and Mihir relationship. the smallest of things done at the heat of the moment without bad intentions were used against them, finally Mihir took revenge of Noina humiliating Tulsi for raising hands on her , spreading this publicly, awaaz neeche when you speak to my wife. Tulsi probably has understood how she was missing when Mihir was expecting her presence when the fire event happened, he was not wrong either, he needed his most loved person around, she too realized it's her failure too. Some good things happen in this mishap with Noina, a new rainbow is created in a cloudy sky. Tulsi's hidden pain , her silent cries needed that one shoulder, and it did find years of yearning fulfilled today. fir BP check karlena , these define their romance and love life.smiley39smiley27

Yes Tulsi has always been strong toh kabhi toh overwhelm ho sakti haina woh bhi -

very correct - a few good things came out of Noina toofan in their life - both know their own mistakes now.

Correct - tulsi ki insult ka badla liya Aaj Mihir ne.

Yes tulsi needed that one shoulder to let go of her pain.

Satynarayan pooja, yup bahot shubh maana jaata hai , especially it is done occasionally in Hindu traditions by the married couple. Dono jode saath me baithenge was real, it happens. Tulsi and Mihir cherishing and remembering their good old days of such events and smiling ,bringing a satisfied smile on the families faces.

So glad the Pooja and 2 couples thing came out so realistically.

Yes they did pooja together after so long! Naturally they will remember such pooja moments of the past

Balcony :Tulsi thanking him etc , not letting Noina thing impact or affect their togetherness or her day was quite fulfilling. loved itsmiley28

😊 thank you. Happy it came out well.

Kulfi ritual shuru hogya. The way she involuntarily wiped Mihir's corner of mouth, Mihir quiet liking it, surprised , content.

Kulfi was birthday special-

You started the story with little cold weather to a brighter summer. Metaphor clouded mind, disturbed heart, hurt eyes , guilt to bright smile, openness , broader perspectives, happy minds, satisfaction.
awesome.

Yes I purposely showed the month as January in first chapter - peak winter - Kyunki 14th Feb aur holi chahiye tha mujhe.. and now it’s spring to bright summer - atmospheric effects as u rightly caught!

initially I felt thoda questionnaire jaisa hogya hai, but later when I re read , I felt its too good that confrontation part, I apologize for giving you wrong feedback before.

Arre no. Please don’t apologize! I am so lucky that you felt open enough to say what you felt initially!

And u think i understand the reason- you were so angry with the show’s Mihir that why he had to answer everything to Noina and be her puppet - wohi kind of yahan nikal Gaya.. so it’s completely okay- hota hai

You kept more subtle , descent , the standards as high as you started writing this story. Tulsi and Mihir cannot stoop to Noina's standards, but can maintain their stature and still be provocative , vocal , hit right at the bull's eye. Be human accept mistakes, understand the limit they crossed, still gave her piece of advise not to cross their lives again, has shown humanity. Noina crying as she failed everything , lost all her games gave the reader a satisfying joy.

These words truly mean a lot to me..thank you!

You rocked it again. take a bow. Thank you.

Thanks a million!

Thank you soo much dear for this beautiful review - my replies in red
