Kareena doesn't want to do complicated roles, even if they're author-backed. "Why not? I'm young …. only 24," she says. "Let me play character of my age. This is the best period of my life. I'm not signing any film immediately now. I want to wait." Lots of directors want to cast her in meaty roles. Sudhir Mishra, for instance, wanted her to play an author-backed role in a remake of his Deepti Naval starrer 'Main Zindaa Hoon'. But Kareena turned down. "No! Right now, I don't want to play these complex characters," she says. Then why 'Othello'? "Othello' is an exception," quipped Kareena. "In the film, I play an 18-year-old gal. I don't want to do films where I've to play older characters. Let me be young and carefree for as long as I can," says Kareena.
