I find that Ashish is trying too hard to look macho. The way he makes faces , looks disinterested in other peoples talk , prudish attitude of Dev looks vey fake and really puts me off.
Actually it's not his fault. His character has been designed in this way. If you follow the interviews of Ashish & others from the team of Dev before the show started, they all said that Dev's character is like that. Ashish himself said that he was given the brief about his character that Dev hates everybody & everybody hates Dev, but at the same time, audience should find him lovable. So that's his character.

it his character. his character fakes that he don't like or care about anybody but in real he does! for example he shows he don't care if meera have home or not but he ask zubaida apa to let meera stay.

YEAH Right i too noticed, it looks so fake and if he is normal it will be seen much better actually. Ashish by himself is a great actor no need to fake his machoness, it puts me off too.
He has done in movies like love, lies and betrayal very well. and also in the first episode the tie scene was itself superb then why fake such faces? i wonder why too..
