Shastri's make-up kit, clothes, and jewellery were stolen while shooting for Mamta
WHO STOLE MY BAG? Narayani Shastri
Narayani Shastri has a fetish for collecting jewellery. The telly actress has been collecting ear-rings, necklaces, anklets and other pieces for years.
But on Friday afternoon she had to say goodbye to her precious collection when a bag full of her jewellery and clothes was stolen from the sets of the Zee drama, Mamta, in Chandivali Studios.
Valuable loss
"I am quite depressed that I lost so many of my valuable things.
I love delicate accessories, and I had a decent collection of pearls, ear-rings and several other pieces of jewellery. I carried them in my bag since I was shooting for Mamta."
Narayani left her bag and make-up kit unattended in the make-up room. She found it missing when she returned after the shoot.
"Not just my bag, but my entire MAC make up kit was stolen. Only a book and my cell phone's hands-free were left for me."
Apart from her jewellery the bag also had three of her favourite Esprit watches and a pair of Rayban Aviator shades. "I wasn't robbed of any money, but these things were more valuable than that.
I loved my shades and those watches and would always carry them along with me."
Didn't she lodge a policecomplaint or take the issue up with the production house? "There was adequate security around.
I don't know how someone managed to decamp with the bag. My entire cast was with me when it happened, and it is not possible to check them all."
Narayani has now purchased a new make-up kit but laments the loss of her pretty accessories.
"I will have to be extremely careful from this point onwards. I just hope no one else suffers what I have gone through."
