The actress has refused to be part of the show's generation leap. "I do not want to continue because I can't see myself playing an elderly character all of a sudden. I am young and the mere thought of playing a grandmother gives me goosbumps," says Neha. Although the actress has decided to quit, the channel people are trying their best to hold her back. Obviously, finding a suitable replacement is not an easy task. Neha adds, "The channel guys have asked me to sit for another narration. But, I am sure that I want to quit the show." Sources on the sets also say that she has asked for an exorbitant hike since the production house is desperate to have her in Mamta. "I don't want to talk about my pay packet," she says, when we ask her about it. Reportedly, there have been regular fights on the sets. "When you are working in a daily soap, arguments are bound to happen. Otherwise we all share a healthy professional relationship on the sets" says Neha. So, has Neha signed any other project? "I have done several projects, but Mamta gave me the much-needed popularity. I am going to miss the show. After leaving Mamta, I will definitely go on a long holiday. After that, I will be doing a few movies down south," she adds.

hey i live in Canada to same thing here but i follow all the indian timing/episodes so i no wats happenin but the show i think is taking a 20 year leap and i guess alot of people are not commenting cuz thur gettin mad at the way the shows turning out and how half the stuff tha happens in the show are like dumb and sumtimes have nothing to do with anything...also its sort of dumb how tanisha can go on doing so much stuff and never gets caught sort of far fetched i mean shes faking her pregnancy but thas still not caught but i bet u if any one else tried that they wud be....but ya it sucs tha shes leaving i think tha probably some of the older characters are guna be gone and they might have new ppl ...

the show will be nothing without mamta 😔 i dont think i will watch anymore if shes not in it.shes like my fave character 😭 i will miss her 😭

i dont think this hsow will be popular after the leap because many ppl are queting the show including neha mehta. this show will be boring without her

I don't see how a leap will help the serial, when there are so many current, unresolved issues and storylines that need to be tied up...
