Is Kuljeet (shaina) dead?

Hi can someone plz tell me if the gal who plays shaina's charancter in Special squad is still alive or dead. cuz my mum was telling me once that there woz news abt her committing suicide. if she is dead then this serial must have been old then. around 2004 or something.
