The past few episodes, we saw Arjun open up a little bit & stepping forward actively as a team player & helping out the Mountain Rockers. We thought he was changing. But no Arjun has always been like this. He doesn't like people being bullied so he stepped forward to help. But at the same time, he has & will always enjoy the credit, the attention he receives. He is not the kind to invest his time & energy on something that won't bring him both - the goodwill as well as the possible fame. His top priority has always been himself & he believes strongly in reciprocity.
And the same thing seemed to happen today, in the case of Anjali, who he probably considers a friend or at the very least, admires because he sees a similar kind of passion in her. When she was climbing higher, he was definitely happy & proud of her (his smile) & when she fell, he was worried. So he was nice enough to offer her his water bottle. But she refused to take it, & took another person (Akaash's) water bottle instead. Arjun believes that by helping Anjali & the Mountain Rockers, he has done a favour to them. And her refusing his help (the water bottle) seems to have wounded this very ego of his. IMO this triggered his comments on her - calling her a drama queen etc despite knowing that she genuinely is hurt.
I am waiting for Arjun to realise that the Mountain Rockers, especially Anjali, do not need his help. She is a strong girl who has the ability to stand alone & fight against everyone else. Looking forward to watch his ego break further when he realises that he cannot work alone & requires a team to accomplish EVEREST.
