It is unfortunate that the site has decided to punish its users and taken away their choice. Some of those ads clog up computer resources, slow them down and are often mature content. Atleast a reminder or a heads up would have been a welcome step to keep your community informed. But this was done out of the blue with 0 community input.
Click ad block, go to options, go to customize, click on "manually edit your filters".
