Akshay Anand 's new Show

A fter a long hiatus, Akshay Anand is back as the hero. He's in Neelanjana which launches next week on 9X. It reportedly touches upon sev- eral social issues. Anand plays a journalist who lands up in a vil- lage. The people he meets and the incidents that occur change his life forever. This of course includes a girl.. debutante Harsha Khandelkar. "After Choodiyan and Choti Maa, this is the third show that's been really satisfying," says the actor. No research required Did he spend time observing reporters? "No. I'm not one of those actors who sits on a character for days, 'researching'. I read the script five min- utes before giving a shot," he says. Anand, who plays an important role in Saat Phere as well claims to be happy with the show. "Jiji (Nivedita Bhattacharya) is back.. she'll add masala to the proceedings. Thing are going to get pretty exciting," he promises. Three dailies (he's also working in Doli Saja Ke Rakhna).. isn't it too much to handle? Showing no sign of stress, Anand says, "My schedules are in place so there are no date clashes."
