Having seen the last two episodes its been more and more evident that maya realizes she is issues and wants to be helped. Maya, as Arjun said is a girl who has been wronged and traumatized all through her childhood days which has really scarred her for life. And then there are insensitive people like Saanjh and Vanadan who instead of being sympathetic to her try to browbeat her even more and make her feel more and more humiliated for her issues.

Also, much of what Saanjh and Vanadana do is motivated by their refusal to accept that Arjun loves Maya. Suman was right, its Maya and Arjun's love and life. Let them be the way they are. Even if they were unhappy for the last three years all by themselves, what happiness did Arjun's family bring along after the 3 year reunion? Nothing. Only more confusion, pain and stupidity.

Very true. Even after reuniting with each other after 3 years. Arjun's family "didn't bring any happiness" to them. On the other hand, after their reunion, Maya tried her utmost best to have a happy relationship with Arjun's family. For example, she got Arjun's brother wrongly jailed for attempting to rape her. She also physically tortured and tried to kill Arjun's mother and friend.

No, much of what they do is motivated by their refusal to allow their friend and son to rot in jail for a crime he didn't do. It is also motivated by their insistence on saving their other friend and son from the clutches of a serial killer.
