The mom is also selfish

In fact, like mother like daughter. Both want to hide their heads in the sand and pretend that whatever is happening around them is not happening.

In the mom's case I can still believe that with age she has become more determined to ignore the things she dislikes, but honestly I find it more and more difficult to believe each day that Myra cannot see that what Kabir says is true. Or for that matter that irrespective of whether she marries Kabir or not, she definitely needs to rethink her upcoming marriage with Akshay.

If myra has sny confusion ..she can't go to mom, cause mom doesn't want to hear no for marriage to army officer. When dhe sees her daughter is conflicted, instead of assurance it's emotional blackmail.

Let's hope the relationship improves.

And ironically the mom will still claim that she is the best mom and thinking only of her daughter's happiness. If pushed, she will get defensive and say that the other two daughters never listened to her and so with this one at least she should get to fulfil her heart's wishes.

She is such a well-written character - she's like a lot of mothers I know, who appear to be all right but are actually not.

I am waiting for the day Myra speaks out loud that she is in love with Kabir and cannot marry that MCP Akshay.
How can Mrs K overlook Akshay's MCPness is beyond my understanding.
