So I saw the scene where Maya falls down the stairs today and the way the scene was shown there is a very high probability that Maya purposely fell down the stairs after hearing Arjun's voice. But then again till they actually say that Maya did it purposely, there is always a possibility that it was an accident. The focus on Maya's feet could be due to the following 2 reasons:
1. To show the audience that Maya was deliberately moving towards the edge of the stairs and purposely fell
OR
2. To show the audience how Maya was unintentionally moving towards the edge of the stairs in her attempt to stop Vandana and how there was an impending danger that she could fall.
Her pause on hearing Arjun's voice and then subsequent fall can also be explained in 2 ways:
1. She pauses on hearing Arjun's voice and then deliberately falls to distract him
OR
2. She hears Arjun's voice, pauses, turns towards him and since she was already at the edge of the stairs she accidentally slips and falls down.
Honestly, after seeing the scene twice I can say that both scenarios are equally plausible. This being "Maya" people do tend to believe that it's scenario 1 but the CVs can very well say it's scenario 2 as well.
Also, Maya killing her own child just to stop Vandana from telling Arjun the truth does not logically make any sense because:
1. It has been highlighted time and again that the baby is the only thing keeping Arjun-Maya's relationship afloat. Maya knows that the one thing binding her to Arjun is this baby. Why in the world would she think that killing the child is going to help her keep Arjun to herself? If anything, losing the child increases the chance of Arjun leaving her.
2. Vandana is still very much alive and capable of telling Arjun the truth. How is the child dying going to stop Vandana from revealing the truth to Arjun? Yes, Arjun will be temporarily distracted by the grief of losing the child and he maybe angry at Vandana but eventually Vandana can always tell him what she saw.
3. Ayaan is still alive (Maya knows that) so whether the baby is alive or not he can always tell Arjun the truth.
4. If Maya's plan is to use this as an excuse to kill Vandana and then to kill Ayaan to shut them up then what makes her think that Arjun will still believe her and be with her after losing his baby, brother and mother? If all of them just drop dead one after the other won't Arjun suspect that she is behind all this?? Again there is nothing holding him back this time, now that the baby is gone and she has no leverage over him.
5. Falling from the stairs does not guarantee that the baby will die. Baby could have survived but suffered permanent damage. What would she have done if that would have happened and if the doctors would have saved the baby.
From the story point of view Maya deliberately killing the baby does not make sense. As per the spoilers doing the rounds, the loss of the baby drives Maya even more insane and she goes on a rampage against Vandana and probably even Arjun to get her revenge. Again if that is true, then that is only possible if Maya is genuinely grieving the loss of her child and then blames Vandana (for indirectly being responsible for the fall and hence according to Maya for killing the baby) and Arjun ( for leaving her after she lost the kid).
Maya seeking revenge from Vandana and Arjun when she herself killed the baby is stupid and illogical. What does she want revenge for then??
I think the episodes this week and Maya's reaction should hopefully help clarify which way the CVs want to go with this. Whatever they chose to show I hope they have a logical explanation for everything.
