I know this has got nothing to do with our forum. But since I've always been obsessed with beauty pageants, especially Miss World (which I believe is the most valued beauty contest), I coundn't resist sharing this. Manushi Chhillar from Haryana, a medical student, has been crowned the new Miss World 2017. We got the blue crown after a wait of 17 long years! I had already given up any hope of our country ever winning due to the lack of sponsors from our side for this pageant. Still I held onto a little bit of anticipation after seeing how intelligent and determined Manushi Chhillar has been ever since her participation days in the initial rounds of Miss India. Her winning streak has been her 'beauty with a purpose' project - Shakti. Visiting around more than 20 villages, creating awareness and treating 5000 rural women with menstrual hygiene knowledge and products isn't a joke. Solid social campaign - a mantra that previous contestants had missed on. Congrats to this Haryanvi girl for winning Miss World 2017!! Still finding it hard to digest.
