I think the story has good potential without a leap.

they could have shown ragkor assume that villagers killed anjor. they would leave azaadganj heartbroken and later on post leap something brings them back there

what unsettles me is the fact that they know meera wont continue post leap yet they have plan to show anjor mu chakor and take that conflict forward with leap. they will need chakor character so they have only 1 option which is to get replacement. but that will be another huge risk. so many risk towards ipl

I don't think they plan to return to Azaadganj, the story will be set in Mumbai, they'll only return to Azaadganj if they run out of ideas.

CVs have always taken huge gambles. They can't keep Meera after the leap, no one would believe she's a mother of a 19 year old.

Maybe they planned to show her as a widow with a kid. Abjor won't forgive her for choosing Raghav over her, they don't need Raghav himself. Axing VJ may have been for cost cutting.
