The brother was mentioned in the very first month of the leap in a party by ranbir's father, vikram who had had said that he has two sons and a daughter (so from that time we all were wondering about this brother), but after that they never mentioned the other brother, but at the end of the prachi kidnapping track recently ranbir clarified over phone with his mother that his brother is the eldest. So since the leap till now ranbir having a brother has only been mentioned twice.... whereas the younger sister of ranbir, called mishti hasn't been shown since rhea's birthday party which I think happened within the first two months of the leap and since then they never mentioned or showed her. So yes the makers had mentioned within the first month of the leap that ranbir has a brother but only recently told us the brother is older to ranbir.

Unfortunately I haven't had enough time to write on my laptop, else I still have to write my next ff of pranbir in office which is continuation of my last ff when prachi got hurt in college and ranbir took her to first aid.
