Even Chandni character is a hypocrite
From a BTS video, it looks like Raunaq will reveal that Avantika was injured by hit men who mistook her for Chandani.
So, Raunaq's entire revenge was based on the principle that Chandani should have waited for hit men to kill her. Chandani had no right to drop her bag while running for her life. Chandani must have guessed confidently that the gullible hit men would take one look at her ID card (photo?) and match it to Avantika. As soon as she crossed paths with Avantika by chance, Chandani masterminded the whole tragedy, which totally justifies Raunaq's three years of preparation for revenge.
Instead of seducing the hit men one by one and turning their sisters against them, Raunaq went after Chandani.
Just how closely does Chandani resemble Avantika during moments of husbandly/brotherly chemistry?
I think the right word for Raunaq is "narcissistic sociopath." He knows when he has done something wrong, but he doesn't care; his priority is to vilify those who have accidentally hurt him.
Raunaq accepts the truth that Sumer didn't cheat on Chitra. Sumer suffered when his wife didn't believe in his love for her ... when she left him and took his children from him ... when she died and he couldn't comfort his children because Raunaq blamed him for his mother's pain ... Does Raunaq immediately call Sumer to say, "Dad, I know you always respected Amma, and I'm sorry I accused you of hurting her," so that Sumer won't suffer another day?
No, being wrong makes Raunaq feel sorry for himself, so he gets drunk, insists that Chandani has to get drunk with him, kisses her, shares a bed with her, and gets drunk again to wallow in self-pity and hatred for Chandani. Raunaq waits until Sumer is home before he admits his mistake. And as soon as his plan to expose Sanjot to Sumer goes wrong, Raunaq reverts to shouting that Sumer never respected Chitra.
Raunaq knows it's not true, but he doesn't mind making false accusations as long as they are hurtful. Whatever Raunaq does to hurt someone else, he justifies because he has been hurt, even when the person he's hurting isn't responsible.
Raunaq instigated Nirbhay to burn down a building, knowing that the fire might spread to destroy other people's lives. Indirectly, Raunaq's idea killed Nirbhay. Yet Raunaq, being a narcissistic sociopath, feels no empathy for Chandani who was accidentally involved in Nisha's suicidal idea and the attack on Avantika.
Raunaq the sociopath insists that Chandani wanted to hurt Nisha for revenge because that is what Raunaq would do. It's only wrong when someone else does it.
Raunaq the narcissist dismisses Chandani's concern for Nisha as fake because, in his mind, only his feelings are real.
When Raunaq learned that Sanjot had murdered his mother, he was ready to murder Sanjot.
Now Chandani is holding a gun on Sanjot, and Sanjot has a knife to Roshani's throat. Whoever shoots Sanjot in this moment could claim justifiable homicide to save Roshani's life. Stupidly, Raunaq pushes the gun down so that Sanjot can kill Roshani anytime.
What happened to Raunaq's murderous intent?
The creative team hasn't bothered to improve since Mehandī Hai Racanevālī, where Mandar with a knife at Pallavi's throat convinced "born smart" Raghav to shoot himself with his own gun.
