Saving penalties is largely about luck. There was no guarantee that wherever Simon dived, the shot would be aimed to that same side.

Even Neuer was beaten by Paraguay, so it's not as if Simon couldn't be. I'm sure Scaloni had done his homework.

Yes, I feel the same. Although Messi missed a couple of chances during the game, a penalty shootout is a completely different scenario... and the Argentina players had that experience to handle that pressure.
