India won its first silver medal at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games through weightlifter Chanambam Rishikanta Singh in the men's 60kg category. He lifted a total of 264kg, which included a Games-record 121kg in the snatch.

Mirabai Chanu won the gold medal in the women’s 48 kg weightlifting event at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

This victory secured India’s first gold medal of the 2026 tournament. It also marked a historic golden hat-trick for Chanu, following her previous CWG gold medals at Gold Coast 2018 and Birmingham 2022.
