Sai Pallavi just doesn’t right for the job. Honestly, Pooja Sharma who essayed Draupadi would’ve been so amazing. If not her then I would opt for Sonarika Bhadoria. Our movie industries don’t have any kind of face required for Maa Sita.

Rakul coming on that chariot with what looked like wolves or something was just weird. This needed someone who can actually act even if her role is short. I would’ve picked someone who can look beautiful certainly but who has the potential to play a vicious streak - Jennifer Winget gets my vote.

Lara can serve face in comparison but I don’t know how well she fares as Kaikeyi who later repents or who has been a warrior. I think Juhi or Madhuri would’ve been far better choices or even Karisma Kapoor. Youngest and most beautiful of the wives but also mean when incited and later remorseful.

Juhi would’ve been an inspired casting choice if you ask me. Sara would’ve been too young considering that Prabhu Ram was in his 40’s when he killed Raavan. He had left home in his late 20s or early 30s. Sita Maa was 6 years younger than him iirc when they got married. So even if he touched 50 when he killed Raavan Maa Sita would’ve been say 44 and Sara would’ve looked too young to play the part at this rate. This needed an experienced actress who at least looks the part.

For ramayana since they are making two parts, they could have separated Ram Sita Laxman actors into young and adult

Like a star said Sara arjun as young sita maybe during the swayamvar scene. Ram Laxman young scenes. And then cut to adult part where we need these characters in vanvas and introducing ravan

I am not even convinced Ravi Dubey as Laxman despite him being an actual good actors. I don't understand film makers vision .

Sai Pallavi was bad casting since day 1. Lady was so bad in amaran. She spends more time in pr where she shows herself superior cause no make up and saree. And it's not a colorism thing. You telling me brown skin actress who's also good isn't there in any industry across India? She's also cast so that South people watch the movie.

To no one's surprise yash slayed as ravana. That's the apt casting, knew it since kgf time. He was shamed so much for toxic promos that he's ugly etc. He's fantastic. And it really looks they put effort in his costume jewellery. His mukut is soo good.

Movie will earn money even if it's a bit decent. That's all

The recent shameless pr for that flop show siya ke ram , ashish as ram and child molester supporter madirakshi is so funny. When it was on air no one bothered to watch. There is a reason it went off air that fast. Now everyone wants that show as a hindi movie, expecting 50% of India will watch that. Sorry not sorry it's cool only online. Not even actors of that show expects it something superior lol . It's also colorism cause the leads were fair and gorgeous. That's all

For this promo didn't help sita is shown really basic way. Basic saree basic jewellery. It wasn't grand like ravan

Sara could’ve played a young Maa Sita for sure. But they’re adapting Valmiki Ji’s Ramayana as per Namit Malhotra. In Valmiki Ji’s version there’s no swayamvar at all. The bow is there but the backstory is that Maa Sita is supposed to marry the man who can lift it up and string the Shiv Dhanush. Many suitors have tried but failed, felt humiliated and waged wars against Mithila for their apparent insult.

Maa Sita and Prabhu Ram aren’t newlyweds but have been married for years when they leave for Vanvas. She in fact is adamant about accompanying him and makes him agree to let her come along. Sara could’ve essayed her teenage to early adult version but then the Vanvas and more importantly Lanka kandh have her in her late 30s to early 40s. There’s no way Sara could look that old, at which point she needed to be replaced by an older actress who could look convincing as the older Maa Sita and also simultaneously share some physical and facial similarities with Sara.

For southern audiences they’ve already cast Yash, there’s also apparently Vijay Sethupati as Vibhishan or Kumbhkaran. People are saying that Vivek Oberoi is playing Vibhishan but he’s not, he’s essaying the role of Surpanakha’s husband Vidyutjivha. There’s probably some other actors/actresses too like Kajal Aggarwal, frankly they didn’t need Sai. Not to mention historically and geographically, Maa Sita is from what is now Nepal. She could’ve been easily played by any actress who looked the part. I think a Southern actress who could have done justice to the part would’ve been Rukmini Vasanth; one of the actresses from Toxic. Her face is very pretty, classical Indian features and she could pass off as a girl from Northern India/Nepal easily too.

Honestly I compare all the new shows with the OGs and find them lacking so never really got into Siya ke Ram because while Sagar and Chopra didn’t have the budget and the technology that exists today, the way they have made Ramayana and Mahabharata respectively it’s impossible to top that in terms of acting talent, writing and just hitting the emotional chord. The only impressive actors I have seen essaying the roles of gods and goddesses from the recent lot are Mohit Rainac Saurabh Raj Jain and Sonarika Bhadoria. Raina is so goated that he’s essaying Mahadev in these 2 movies too and truth be told I am more pumped about watching him again as Mahadev than RK as Prabhu Ram and hoping that they do include the Shiv Tandav Strotam by Raavan in the movie and it’s NOT sung by A. R. Rahman, ANYONE BUT HIM.

The costumes have been designed by Rimple and Harpreet because they did Heeramandi and Padmaavat. This needed Neeta Lulla. She made Ash look stunning as Jodha and was very much in tune with the Rajasthani aesthetics.

And it's not like sara arjun is new find since dhurandhar. Kid was amazing in poniya Selvan. So believable as a young Aishwarya. Heck they could have casted as child actor from South industries if Bollywood had that drought. Chalo kya hi kar sakte hai ab

So true i mean today's generation who watch a show fron insta reel thinks their epics are superior. They never watch the og ones cause they want the flashiness I guess. But dd ramayan and Mahabharat is the cultural icons at this point, similar to the epics. It had it's limitations but atlst sagar and chopra actually respected the books, put the budget into it, fantastic actors, bgms and the dialogues are still hard hitting.

Even ndtv ramayan was so good. Idk why people don't talk about it. Gurmeet and debina really sold Ram Sita. Gurmeet fron this show to Maan Singh khurana is so underrated, people hype up one expression Barun Sobti who single handedly tanker asur s2 and somehow forget this show and actors. The grandeur was great too. It's sad ndtv imagine shut down cause I know if people discovered it now they would be obsessed

This siya ke ram hype is mainly due to the leads being fair and handsome. That literally it. Ashish is a good actor but online people really thinks itv which now has such limited viewership, two actors from that industry out of which one is so limited, will be watched by majority of Indians and also hyped. Next level delusion. Like it or not people will also go to movie for ranbir. How many people will put money for a movie led by Mohit raina? Sad but true. Especially not the insta crowd
