Sorry, Vikrant ain't remotely similar to Uday. Uday was a nice & caring person, who'd never go out of his way to exploit helpless girls. Just look @ the way he treated Devika when she was pretty much 'up for grabs' - he could have been a leech w/ her, but never was. When he discovered Sudha, he was very attentive to her needs - from the time he rescued her from the goons to through the time he married her. And not only that, he was ready to walk out of his family if she wasn't properly treated.
Vikrant, otoh, is a cyber stalker - on his laptop, he IMs unsuspecting girls and tries to lure them. That may well be how he landed Reshmi. The only positive about him is his regard for Kabir, but even Kabir would recoil in horror if and when he found out that Vikrant was the guy behind Reshmi's predicament.
Also, while there may be parallels b/w CM & CS, there are stark contrasts as well. For one, RP cares about his political career too much to just let her rule the roost, whereas MN&G were little more than doormats to CM. I also don't see how Jyoti has anything damaging in her past. Yeah, if it comes out that her kid from Pankaj is alive, her family may be scandalized, but Kabir knew that Jyoti had, or was to have, a baby from Pankaj. I think what might happen would be a conflict, where Jyoti & Kabir would want Roshni back w/ Jyoti, whereas Pankaj, RP, CS and others would oppose it, and that would start a war.
Also, Minal was the only 'sister' Pankaj had, and she turned negative after the bhai-duj day when Jyoti was absent. Asha & Bhavri, by contrast, ain't anything remotely like her.
