Ekta kappoor was interviewed by the channel in the section on women entrepreneurs..she built an empire starting from scratch with ten thousand rupees her dad gave her..in this interview ekta talked of all her serials films future plans struggles etc...hereis what she said on bandini..after i made this show ppl tell me all my shows are distorted versions of it..yes maybe..or maybe its your imagination..she laughed..bairi piya my show on colors is distorted bandini..but not the others..both these shows have aOlder man falling for young girl....the difference being in one the feeling is mutual in the other not..the santu dharamraj jodi clicked beautifully..it is a pure serene relationship..the dv amoli one..is a controversial concept..i feel it failed to take off because indian audiences are basically conservative..however i give myself a big pat on the back for trying something different..bandini is the story of a young girl who comes into a large family as a victim of her circumstances..and the relationshipWhich develops as a result of it..i told my cvs make the girl so lovable that all fall for her..thats what they did..bandini basically doesnt have a story..its based on situations..the serials which work most beautifully are those based on these real life situations..and what about ekta's own love life..it is rumoured that she fell for an older man once..but it didnt work out..he is now in the US..ekta nodded in the affirmative but declined to comment further

I don't intend to offend any DV fans and this is just my opinion but the way his character was established right at the beginning and the way they showed him using the poor village girls and take advantage of their circumstances, I for one could never overlook that and see him as a hero and I don't think it is a matter of being conservative or not, even non-conservative people would find it difficult to accept such a person as the hero. DM despite all his flaws has always been an honorable man and has never taken advantage of people who depend on him for their livelihood and that is one quality that makes him very attractive.
