sudha(if that is the right name) and dushant?

hey gr8 thought buddy...dushyant's character confuses me completely bt killing vasant was his worse deed he shud b punished 4 dis barbaric act there can b no excuse 4 dis bt as u c show is abt gulaal so it can't revolve around sudha...

Dushyant's character is very 3 dimensional. And Sushant had said so when the show began. Dushyant didn't hate Vasant from the beginning. But he was in love with Gulaal. And Vasant ended up being a thorn in his side. Especially seeing how happy they were together...Dushyant wanted that for himself. He just had a faulty logic in thinking that taking Vasant out of the way would bring Gulaal to him. Part of his problem was the drugs too. He didn't plan to kill Vasant. But when an opportunity presented itself he did what he wanted to do to get what he wanted. Ofcourse right after the event you could see how he himself was reflecting on his actions and was shaken. When Sudha pointed out the blood on his shirt he had a naturally guilt ridden reaction to it. He was guilty. He continued to get high on drugs post that event so much more than he was before, i feel, because he couldn't deal with the guilt of having killed his own brother. And like all criminals who commit crimes in the heat of the moment he tried to justify his actions. He continued to try to make things right but the final confrontation with Gulaal broke his fake realities...all the justifications that he was giving himself... she pointed him to the mirror of reality and he realized exactly what he had done and how wrong it was. So now he is repenting for his actions.

And to me a guy who is already pensive and on the road to redemption needs support and understanding not punishment. Yes he took a life.. a grave crime that deserves its share of punishment. but a guy who is suffering in his own guilt is being punished enough. He is reforming. The ideal reason for putting people in jail is to reform them. Dushyant is reforming without that being needed so why put him through a trial.

Yes Vasant was a good soul...deserved a good and long life. But imagine instead of Vasant it was Raman that Dushyant killed. If instead of Gulaal, Dushyant had been in love with Sudha.. and had killed Raman and forced Sudha for deyar vattu... would that be a crime he would be forgiven for because Raman is not a good husband, brother, or son in the first place. I don't agree. A life is a life.. good or bad everyone has the right to live a natural life span and any life cut short intentionally by the actions of another is murder..a crime without justification. But a criminal who understands the discrepancy in his morality and starts to differentiate from right and wrong...how can he still be worthy of further punishment. The objective is to eliminate crime from society.. not criminals.
