No I don't think SJ is capable of that. He is pretty straight forward and would have confronted Brahma if that were the case.
Also, Priya would vouch for him as she has known him from her school days.
He is genuinely in love with Devyani and shows concern for her and is protective towards her
Plus there is so much going on in MLKT and with only 6 months extension, it would be difficult to cover another hidden ploy.
As it is, we have yet to see Brahma, Adi Priya need to resolve their issues, Vidya needs to get established, Uttara need to get a grip on herself and possibly straighten out her life, Dev need to free herself from Brahma and Brahma needs to be caught and trialed and sentenced
So there is really a lot going on and many issues to be resolved without adding in an extra
