So, what are your views? Are you happy? Or unhappy? or dont care? Do you think he deserves to be the First Citizen? If yes, why? If no, why? Do you think he's intelligent enough to manage the results of upcoming elections in 2014?

By making Pranab as the next president, congress have secured their next PM candidate post:)

I personally feel Pranab can be a good PM candidate:)

Out of the candidates to choose from I'd go with Pranab Mukherjee.

He sure has grey areas in his political career, as a matter of fact who doesn't.

Pranab has handled important profiles in his Ministry, like External affairs, Finance and Transport and few more too, which makes him versatile and the best candidate to adopt to a President's role

out of the lot.

I think with the politics heating up, the president should be someone who is not a political leader. Someone like Sam Pitroda, who was once a potential candidate.

There's PA Sangma who has been backed as BJP's presidential candidate though Pranab da is as good as elected. According to latest reports, 61% of the votes are guaranteed for Mr Mukherjee. Nevertheless, Mr Sangma quit his party(NCP) rather than withdraw his nomination. Apparently, he believed that the party should have endorsed his candidature rather than disrespecting him, if only for his "tribal identity".

As regards Mr Mukherjee for the president; the way I look at it, he is being offered or rather rewarded with some comfortable time at a very respectable position for all the hard work he has put in for Congress. He was after all their' chief troubleshooter. It's quite well known that the ever ambitious Mr Mukherjee had always wanted to don the Prime Ministerial role.Is this an acceptable bargain?

Mr Mukherjee, as presidential candidate, has also added some spice to the political scenario. The NDA and Left front both have had splits in their respective alliances. However, its Mamata didi as always who gathers the maximum eyeballs with her antics.

And that reminds me, you failed to add Mr Manmohan Singh as the presidential nominee.😆

@Mindbender! -- sorry for not mentioning PA Sangma, I didnt mention his name as he didnt resign from NCP and thought maybe, he'd withdraw :P ..but good thing he resigned and is still contesting.

It's very surprising how he just joined and everyone's supporting him, ofcourse the BJP's supporting only to go against the Congress 😆... but, just a while ago, I watched his interview on TV, and he looks VERY confident and is pretty audacious. He says he's gonna win this race... hmm, should see where this will go.

Until today, I thought it was Pranab Mukherjee who was gonna win, but, PA Sangma seems to be a tough competition now.

Coming to Pranab Mukherjee, it isss! he's a very cute person? 😆 ..and yes, I agree with you, it looks more to me, like.. he's being rewarded, but then, he's the best of the lot! I want him to become the Prez.

Mamata didi's only work is to draw the attention all to herself and project herself as the "powerful, authoritative, wise, prime mover" 😆 ..it is so weird how the BJP always must do something that is in opposition to congress and how Mamata wants the media attention.. 😆

Manmohan Singh is one of the presidential nominees?? :s ...I never knew that.. he was said to be, back in the month of May, but I dont think he's still a nominee... or is he?
