Hey guys,
Yes you are allowed to criticize an actor and their acting skills but you are not allowed to bash. Because criticism is discussing your opinion and expanding on it to make the other person understand.
Criticism is basically saying something and expanding on it to make your point in a polite manner, not taking digs at the actor. So like, saying something like "His expressions were not that great and his posture was all wrong for that scene. I think he has a long way to go. He can improve but he needs practice." is criticism. This way I am telling my opinion but not taking digs on the actors looks, or calling them certain names which would account as bashing.
Bashing on the other hand would be calling the actor names, taking personal digs at his looks/attire, calling them fat, or just plainly saying that they can't act. So basically anything that is rude, and non-explanatory is bashing and anything that explains the opinion without the use of bad words, rude name calling or taking personal digs is fine.
I hope you guys understand the difference. I know there's a fine line between bashing/criticism but I tried to pin point it out.
EDIT: Hey, if you feel you are unsure of if that topic contains bashing/critcism, you can forsure, PM the Development Team of that forum and they can look into it.
