1. Prevention is better than cure.
-- Avoid late night travels whenever possible.
-- Avoid lonely places.
-- Under unavoidable circumstances if you are planning to ride by auto/taxi/bus, ensure that you have an escort who is capable of defending you.
2. Always have things in your hands(like pepper spray) by which you can manage an escape in case you get into trouble.
3. Learn simple self defense techniques to protect yourselves. Recommend to enroll for professional martial arts courses...

4. Always keep important contact numbers handy (like police, fire brigade, ambulance etc...)
5. While boarding a private CAB, always inform your parents / relatives about the travel, CAB number, Driver's name & number
6. Finally a new law is passed
Indian Penal code 233
"If a girl is suspected to be molested or getting molested she has the supreme right to injure him or harm him dangerously & the girl will not be blamed for murder."
