After Sherlyn Chopra decided to pose nude for playboy magazine, many started calling her a s**t who is stripping for money. She was verbally abused by random strangers. She was accused for destroying culture, degrading femininity and it is common for many to declare with pride that they dont respect her.But her nudity was not imposed on the society. She did not come in front of our houses and strip. She did not appear nude before our children and try to 'spoil' them. Her nude images were for a foreign magazine, not accessible in India. The images she shared were also on her personal twitter account. If we look at those who got offended, they on their own googled her images, they on their own saw the photographs, they on their own went to her twitter profile and got offended. It was as if these offended souls were looking for women to get offended by.We can ignore her and mind our own business. But still we chose to hound her and attack her, for what she was doing in her own private space, with her own body. This is the problem with our mentality and unless this changes, independent women will always be attacked by desperate men.
