Ali Zafar, pretty boy from across the border, is not just your average pop star. Seems he does everything from 'A to Z'! He's the new face of Pepsi in Pakistan (the ad was directed by bigwig Prahlad Kakkar). He's also painted, been a fashion model, and won awards for the PTV serial "Kaanch Ke Per".
Now this multi-talented, classically-trained graduate of Lahore's Nazir Ahmed Music Society is picking up award after award for his catchy debut album Huqa Pani. The album has already sold a record-breaking 50 lakh copies, and will be released soon India-side by Universal Music.
Ali is enthusiastic, and says there's been a "wonderful response" to his "hardcore pop" album on both sides of the border. Although he's "mostly a musician", he's even open to film offers here — "if they're done well and match my style". Watch out, India, here he comes!
