I want to share a quote by Rituparno ghosh that is published in today's 'The Telegraph' , kolkata edition. This should answer all the speculations about his sexuality.
"My point is I will do what I want within my code of aesthetics. I think I have created a distinctive style for myself, though not consciously... i consider myself priviledged because of my gender fluidity, the fact that I am in between. It is for me to decide whether I will stand in a queue for men or for women, or neither of the two.." - Rituparno Ghosh.
Rituda always asserted the fact that Art & Artist should be looked at a non-judgemental way. he was perhaps the one to show us that Art is independent of politics, religion, color, creed and sexuality. the 'telegraph' today rightly describes him as a 'renaissance man'. the man who had truly revolutionary thought, vision and who was responsible for resurrecting Bangla cinema from the appaulingly awkward movies in the 90's.
RIP Rituda..
