Supernatural Season 9: New Angel Ezekiel Has Been Cast
The fallen angels on Supernatural will mean the introduction of several new characters for season 9 and one of these characters is an angel named Ezekiel. Warner Bros. has confirmed that he will be played by Tahmoh Penikett (previously on Dollhouse and Battlestar Galactica). Executive producer Jeremy Carver describes Ezekiel as "a dignified warrior angel injured in the Fall," which occurred at the end of the season 8 finale thanks to Metatron casting the angels out of Heaven. Ezekiel will be introduced to fans in the Supernatural season 9 premiere episode on October 8th at 9/8c on The CW. This, of course, invites a slew of questions. We know from executive producer Robert Singer that the angels will retain all of their powers except teleportation/flight, which means that Ezekiel won't be someone to be trifled with."There are different factions of angels, because all of them fell. Some of them desperately want to get back to Heaven, some are trying to find a place on earth, so there's battles among the angels," Singer told us at Comic-Con. Will Ezekiel be one of the angels chasing after Castiel after they were all cast out of Heaven or will he join with the Winchesters to restore some order to the angels who now (literally) walk the Earth? Unfortunately, it's the time for speculation because no additional details about the character (or his longevity) were provided.
