I come from a Vaishnav background, so we celebrate the Navaratri of Lord Venkateshawara for 10 days.First we do install the photo or in some houses Murti of Lord Venkateshwara, and then we do pooja, and also a Satyanarayana pooja, then read the stories of Satyanarayana, and then say out loud, Venkataramana Govinda Govinda. We keep Akhand Diya for 10 days.
After the pooja is over we offer the Prasad, in 2 plates, one for Lord and other Goumata [cow], after which we eat food.
On the last day, we offer Vada and Puran to Lord, and we wish that lord will also come next year.
A great festival is also held in Tirupati called Brahmotsav, to celebrate 10 days of festival.
