Shilpa Shinde is roped in to play Mahananda in DKDM.She was said to be a courtesan, great beauty & devotee f Shiva. She wore ashes & Rudrakshas like Shiva. sang & danced for him. For a brief time she was said to be a wife too. Nikhil Sinha confirmed about her starting shooting from today.

Mahananda, the prostitute, was a Siva devotee. She had a monkey and cock dance with Rudraksas on them. Once Siva assumed the form of a merchant, Vaisyanatha, and visited her house to test her. The merchant gave her a gem-set bangle and she promised to be his wife for three days. The merchant's Siva Linga was burnt in a fire, and he entered the pyre to test her. But Siva appeared and stopped her as she is about to jump into the fire. Siva takes Mahananda and her servants to Sivaloka.

story of Mahananda ws also shown in Om Namah Shivay.. the cosummation thing ws nt shown in tht.. m sure it will be nt shown in DKDM as well..!!😃

the gist of the story is pure devotion and unadulterated love fr the Lord.. and on Lord's part, it is tht he never ever differentiates between the devotees on basis of their caste or job or watever

finally i will be seeing my fav story in DKDM..!!
