Although he is attractive, physically, I don't like Rob because of his looks. The fact that he has a great personality - check any of his interview: be it video or written - is a very attractive and appealing trait, to me at least. He obviously has a good head on his shoulders. I think Twilight can have a career lasting impact so on one hand, I want Robert to do it because it may turn out better than the book, but on the other hand I don't because if the movie turns out bad, his career will go down the drain. The only reason I might let my Twi-hard friends drag me to the theatres this November is because of Robert's amazing personality. Don't judge him on his looks - he seems intelligent enough to see the series for what they are and tries to make the best out of the little he's given to work with, other than "perfection".
Coming to Gaspard - I feel he suits Victorian roles not vampire-based roles but I may be wrong. For example, Jacquou le Croquant was pretty decent while he butchered the character of Hannibel Lecter, ruthlessly.
Isn't it ironic how Robert always ends up playing characters that are known for their looks? First Cedric Diggory and then Edward Cullen. I really hope he gets some meaty roles in the near future.
